The tax cut package passed by Congress this month gave the renewable energy industry a nice boost: it included a one-year extension of the popular cash grant that offsets some of the cost of installing an alternative energy projects, known as the 1603 Cash Grant.

The California Energy Commission adopted changes to the rebate level and structure for small wind so that the new rebate for small wind is $3.00/watt for the first 10 kW in April 2010. 

This increase expires in April 2011.  It may not sound like much, but 0.50/Watt equals $5,000!  Take advantage of this 20% rebate increase now.
